Roof Replacement and Reroofing in Jacksonville, Florida
A New Roof, Done Right the First Time
Shingle, metal and low-slope replacements across Jacksonville and Northeast Florida.
A roof replacement is the largest single repair most Jacksonville homeowners will ever pay for, and it is one of the few that has to hold up against Northeast Florida weather year after year. Redtail Roofing LLC replaces roofs across Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Nassau and Baker counties with in-house crews, written scopes and photo documentation from tear-off through final inspection.

Signs Your Roof Needs Replacing
Not every worn roof needs to come off — these are the signals that move a roof into replacement territory
Granule Loss Across Slopes
Bald patches and heavy granule buildup in gutters mean the shingle mat is exposed to UV and no longer shedding water the way it was designed to.
Curling or Cracked Shingles
Once shingles lose their seal and lift at the edges, wind gets underneath them and failures multiply after every storm.
Leaks in Multiple Places
One leak is a repair. Leaks appearing in unrelated areas of the same roof usually mean the underlayment has reached the end of its life.
Soft or Sagging Decking
A spongy feel underfoot or visible dips in the roof plane point to moisture that has already reached the sheathing.
Daylight or Attic Staining
Visible light through the deck, damp insulation, or dark streaks on rafters mean water is getting past the roof covering.
Age of the Roof
Most three-tab shingle roofs here run 15 to 20 years. Florida sun, humidity and wind shorten every published rating.
Not sure which category your roof falls into? A professional roof inspection gives you a documented answer before you commit to anything.
Roofing Materials We Install
The right material depends on pitch, budget, how long you plan to stay, and what your HOA or insurer will accept — we walk through the tradeoffs honestly
Architectural Asphalt Shingles
The most common choice in Jacksonville, and for good reason. Solid wind ratings, a wide range of colors, and the best balance of upfront cost and service life for most residential roofs. Also the easiest material to match when a future repair is needed.
Standing Seam & Exposed Fastener Metal
Metal costs more upfront and pays it back in longevity and wind performance. Standing seam hides its fasteners beneath the seam, removing the most common long-term leak point. Exposed fastener panels cost less and suit porches and outbuildings well.
Low-Slope & Flat Roofing
Porches, additions and commercial structures often need a membrane rather than a shingle. We install modified bitumen and single-ply systems on low-slope sections and tie them into a shingle or metal field on the same building.
What the Replacement Process Looks Like
Most residential replacements take one to three days depending on size, pitch and complexity
-
On-Site Evaluation
We measure the roof, inspect the attic where accessible, photograph problem areas and identify anything that will affect scope — skylights, chimneys, rotten decking.
-
Written Proposal
An itemized scope listing material, underlayment, flashing, ventilation and cleanup, with the price for each. Decking replacement is quoted at a per-sheet rate up front so there are no surprise line items later.
-
Scheduling and Material Delivery
We confirm a start date, arrange delivery, and protect landscaping, driveways and pool enclosures before anything comes off.
-
Tear-Off and Deck Inspection
The old covering comes off down to the sheathing so we can see the actual condition of the deck. Any compromised sheathing gets replaced and documented with photos.
-
Dry-In
Underlayment and flashing go on the same day the deck is exposed. The roof is never left open overnight.
-
Installation
Field material, ridge, valleys, penetrations and ventilation installed to manufacturer specification so the warranty stays intact.
-
Cleanup and Final Walkthrough
We run magnets across the property for nails, haul off all debris, and walk the finished job with you before we consider it closed.
Working With Your Insurance Claim
If a named storm, wind event or hail damaged your roof, some or all of the replacement may be covered
We are not public adjusters and we do not file claims on your behalf, but we do the part that makes a claim defensible: a thorough documented inspection with dated photographs, a written scope of the damage, and direct communication with your adjuster during their site visit so nothing gets missed or misclassified.
-
Dated Photo Documentation
Every damaged area photographed and described in writing, so your adjuster has something concrete to work from.
-
We Meet Your Adjuster On Site
The scope gets assessed from the roof, not from the driveway.
-
A Word of Caution
Be wary of any contractor who offers to cover your deductible or guarantees approval before an adjuster has been out. Both are red flags — and in Florida, the first one is illegal. We quote the work honestly whether insurance pays or you do.
Still determining whether you have a claim at all? Start with our storm and wind damage assessment.
